How do you spend the pre-Christmas and Christmas period, a person who has been leading for many years a project aimed at helping people in need?
In the 11 years that I’ve been running the People’s People.sk project, I’m starting to believe in the spirit of Christmas. Just at the time of the most beautiful holidays, we somehow become more aware that not everyone will have them generously and cheerfully. At least from the fact that the number of gifts improves every year in December, I conclude that there is some magic around Christmas that makes us.
Is the magic of Christmas so powerful that it makes better people who would normally be left cold by charity?
I think yes. Finally, not only from the statistics of peoplePeople, but also from quality data, it is clear that we are really more generous before Christmas, while even those who don’t even think about it during the rest of the year are interested in helping people in need. It is amazing that although the pre-Christmas period is quite hectic for many, it is during this period that you have the time and desire to do it for those who are supposed to have it. What else to call it, if not magic?
The magical Christmas season increases the number of donors, but isn’t it the other way around that more people are also asking for help?
That’s right, not only the number of donors is growing, but also, unfortunately, the number of recipients. The most difficult to read are the messages from those who realize that their children will not have comparable holidays to their peers. That Jesus will give them less than other, equally good children. Unfortunately, in recent years, we have registered a significant increase in requests for help from, for example, single mothers or families who, despite their best efforts, cannot afford what most consider completely normal and normal….
