Albi. Workshops at the Toulouse-Lautrec high school
The Toulouse-Lautrec high school introduces the creative arts to students. An original experience that is met with enthusiasm and support for the concept by all.
“We have launched a partnership with the Musée des Abattoirs de Toulouse,” confided Marie Laure Ruefli-Cot, professor of applied arts. “We have been working with the Musée des Abattoirs for four years. We have borrowed works from them. Today, the second administration management class welcomes the artist Virginie Loze to participate in creative workshops in applied arts. the second meeting we have with the artist. We thus give the opportunity of an opening to the students to meet an artist”.
A large-screen projection provides participants with the basics of artistic creation.
“I suggest that each student create a character on a scale of one on paper” explained the artist Virginie Loze. “Their work is done using a graphic tool. The character represented a model from the imagination or from reality”.
In the large multipurpose room, the students each had a wide strip of white paper on the floor to express their talents in complete freedom. The atmosphere was one of motivation and smiles. “The idea is nice, we can put an image of us on paper,” said Emma. “It’s good because we draw a person and what represents us” added Harmonie. “Our creativity that stands out, it’s fun!” Melina exclaims. “We draw our silhouette. I like it a lot” testified Kahadija. The joy of all the students was clearly visible.
