A former international meeting visits the TFC
If Gaël Clichy was born in Toulouse, he never played there. Trained by AS Cannes, he was 17 when Damien Comolli spotted him. The Toulouse president was then a recruiter for Arsenal and he convinced Arsène Wenger to observe the young player.
Three months later, Clichy played his first match for the Gunners against Birmingham, before appearing in his first Champions League meeting against Celta Vigo eight months later.
