1 million for more inclusive mobility in Lisbon: winning projects announced
The 18 winners of the open call launched under the VoxPop project are already known, with the aim of finding digital solutions that make mobility more accessible and inclusive in Lisbon.

It was MUBi, an association that promotes urban mobility by bicycle, which led the jury’s evaluation with its proposal to improve the current collaborative platform Cycling City🇧🇷 Launched in 2019 in Lisbon, Setúbal and Aveiro, Cidade Cclável allows anyone to find out where there is bicycle parking in their city and map the parking needs that are not yet met. MUBi’s goal is now to use the 40 thousand euros from VoxPop for new features on the platform, which contributed “achieve greater social and gender justice in cycling”like information on the infrastructure of cycle paths, and recording of incidents of road harassment and danger zoneshelping not only bike riders to make safer decisions, but also policy makers to identify problem areas.
Despite dealing with a open callreleased through a public event in Augustone presentation of the engaged projects was held behind closed doors – and without invitation to the media – in an online event on December 13🇧🇷 The Câmara de Lisboa explains, to Lisboa Para Gente, that it was just a matter of “a first presentation of the selected projects” with the shape of “work meeting”🇧🇷 The innovative projects will be developed for six months until July 2023, when a demonstration day will be heldwhere different people will present the digital solutions they will develop.
ONE open call of VoxPop was launched on the 10th of August to find digital solutions for mobility in Lisbon that responded to one of these challenges: travel navigation, autonomous navigation, inclusive ticketing services, promotion of safer mobility, full use of public spaces and solutions communities for more inclusive mobility.
VoxPop consists of a partnership of eight national public and private entities, led by CML and with operational management in charge of EMEL. With the aim of developing a more collaborative model of mobility management in the city of Lisbon, supported by digital tools for a more efficient understanding, operation and maintenance of the transport infrastructure and that enhance the creation of user-centered mobility solutions. The VoxPop project is co-financed by the Iniciativa Innovative Urban Actions, a program promoted by the European Commission that aims at ambitious and innovative financial solutions to respond to the challenges of cities. The project also joins Carris, Metro de Lisboa and Transportes Metropolitanos de Lisboa (TML).
