Man Utd transfer news: United do double deal with Croatia after ‘renewed interest’ | Football | Sport
Manchester United have reportedly renewed their interest in Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livaković, while his representative colleague Josip Juranović is also on the club’s transfer radar. The two Croatian stars caught the eye in Qatar as Zlatko Dalic’s side reached the semi-finals before eventually being beaten 3-0 by winners Argentina at the Lusail Stadium last week.
Still, for a nation of just four million people, this is another remarkable achievement for Croatia after they previously reached the 2018 final in Russia where they were beaten 4-1 by France.
Livakovic was arguably their standout player apart from Joško Guardiola and Luka Modric after his stunning penalty shootout heroics in the last 16 triumph over Japan.
The 27-year-old saved three spot-kicks to secure his side’s place in the quarter-finals, where they would eventually beat Brazil on penalties.
Once again, Livaković was at the center of the shocking victory after saving Rodrygo’s penalty kick in the shootout.

He is expected to return to Tyneside at the end of the season, while Dean Henderson could finally be sold – meaning United may have to sign a new goalkeeper.
Meanwhile, Juranovic is also reportedly on United’s shortlist as they look to sign competition for Diogo Dalot.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka looks set to leave Old Trafford next month and United will therefore need a replacement.
Wolves, Crystal Palace and West Ham are vying for Wan-Bissak’s signature, with Juranovic also a sought-after player.
It is understood that Torino, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and Newcastle are also interested in signing the Celtic defender.
Juranovic caught the eye in Qatar – most notably against Brazil when he shut out Vinicius Jr for 120 minutes.
The Croatian is a no-nonsense full-back who also likes to go forward and support attacks where possible.
Celtic have already signed his potential replacement in the form of Canadian international Alistair Johnston, who is set to join in January from CF Montreal.
