All about the Chemin des Crèches in Monaco
This path is made up of about sixty nativity scenes to discover.
The traditional Chemin des Crèches, created in 2014 by Prince Albert II, is back. Until January 8, 2023, around sixty nativity scenes can be admired along a route located from the Rampe Major to the Rock.
The Grand Chalet, located on Place du Palais, pays tribute to Prince Albert Iuh, in this year of the Centenary of his death. The decoration of the chalet is reminiscent of the interior of a ship and evokes its travels and missions. Small nativity scenes from different countries where he went to be part of the discoveries.
Place de la Statue de la Mer, don’t miss the impressive nativity scene commissioned at the beginning of the 19th century by the Principality. Made by the master roadmender of Aubagne, Antoine Simon, it brings together 25 subjects. It has been completely restored. 10 years of work will have been necessary for it to be available and observable during this 2022/2023 edition.
The detailed itinerary of the Chemin de Crèches is available on the association’s website.
