Peace and Sport Awards: ‘Les Eaux Minérales d’Oulmès’ awarded in Monaco

Les Eaux Minérales d’Oulmès (LEMO) received the prize for the best corporate social responsibility initiative (CSR Initiative of The Year) at the 2022 Peace and Sport Awards in Monaco.
This distinction honored the common commitment and the justified achievements in favor of the education and the emancipation of young girls through sport (Empowering girls through Football) undertaken by LEMO, in collaboration with the NGO Tibu Africa since 2020, the company said in a statement.
“Les Eaux Minérales d’Oulmès and Tibu Africa are committed to contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 5, which consists of taking action to promote gender equality, and defines sport as a real lever to achieve this. Thanks to values of solidarity and citizenship, and an inveterate commitment anchored in its history and its DNA, Les Eaux Minérales d’Oulmès stands as a Moroccan corporate citizen, which has defined the education of young girls as a priority axis, and managed to create a socio-educational model through sports education, and a broadened and strengthened partnership,” notes the press release.
Consolidating itself positively from year to year, this program with a strong social and societal impact has stimulated the opening of 8 sports centers in 4 regions of Morocco, allowing nearly 1,300 young girls, and more than 8,000 indirect beneficiaries to access new opportunities, in terms of support in sports, education, human development and employability.
This project aims to offer young girls aged 8 to 14 an opportunity to access physical and sporting activity in secure and modern infrastructures, under the supervision of coaches and qualified teachers.
By accompanying young girls in the critical phase of transition from childhood to adolescence, this project aims to create a safe space for them to develop their motor, cognitive and socio-emotional skills.
In addition, it focuses on languages, leadership, STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) as well as raising awareness of issues such as sexual and reproductive health, thus helping to break down social barriers and empower these young people. life skills girls.
“We are honored to receive the CSR Initiative of the Year award, which supports our efforts as a Moroccan corporate citizen. We have chosen through our Sidi Ali brand to contribute to the education of young girls through sport”, declared Naoufel Jellal, Deputy Managing Director of Mineral Waters of Oulmès, quoted in the press release.
“In three years, we have multiplied by ten the number of beneficiaries and have obtained significant results since the majority have increased their academic results and their self-esteem. We are proud of this positive imprint and have the ambition that this model contribute massively to the development of a more inclusive and egalitarian Moroccan society,” he added.
The 13th edition of the Peace and Sport International Forum was held in the presence of Prince Albert II of Monaco and many personalities from the sports ecosystem, bringing together more than 50 speakers and 250 participants from four continents, on the theme “Sport , a response for peace”.
Six other categories distinguished companies, institutions and NGOs that have made their essential contribution to social stability in the world through sport, recognized as a tool for dialogue, social cohesion and transmission of the values of peace.
