Football: several Ligue 1 players sanctioned for sports betting
The Disciplinary Committee of the Professional Football League has sanctioned several Ligue 1 players who have not respected the ban on sports betting imposed by the Sports Code.
They were pinned by the LFP Disciplinary Committee. Several players but also coaches and managers of professional clubs have been sanctioned by the body for not having respected the ban on sports betting, laid down by the sports code, during the 2020-2021 season.

Regarding Ligue 1 players, Donovan Léon is the player who has been the most heavily sanctioned. The Auxerre goalkeeper received a five-game suspension, three of which were suspended, for betting on football matches. Brest striker Irvin Cardona was suspended for four games, two of which were suspended, plus a fine of 1,500 euros.
But they are not the only ones to have been sanctioned. Sacha Delaye (Montpellier) and Alexander Djiku (Strasbourg) received one-game suspension, against four-game suspended suspension for Jean-Charles Castelletto. A total of 54 professional players were punished by the Disciplinary Committee.
Twenty coaches and a manager were also sanctioned by the LFP. Among them, Cédric Hengbart (Blois) and Vincent Planté (Chambly), who received four suspended matches, two of which were suspended, and Sylvain Monsoreau (Sochaux reserve), who received four suspended matches. The sanctions imposed on the players, coaches and managers take effect from this Tuesday at midnight.
