Recruited a year and a half ago at OL, Jean Lucas was not convinced at AS Monaco. In search of a place outside the community, the Principality club is pushing the Brazilian midfielder towards the exit.
It had been one of the bets of Juninho upon his arrival as sports director at theLO. The profile was interesting, some of his Lyon performances too but John Lucas has never managed to find a place in the sun in the Lyon midfield. In two seasons, he only played 25 games with OL before experiencing a certain renaissance during a six-month loan to Brest. Seventeen games that had revealed the potential seen by Juninho and who had pushed theAS Monaco dropped eleven million euros in the summer of 2021.
In search of playing time that he could not have at OL, Jean Lucas therefore set sail for the Principality, remembering in particular the good memories of Lyon with a but last February. Nevertheless, despite 49 games, the Brazilian (24 years old) is no longer part of Monegasque plans since the arrival of Philippe Clement. Between August 31 and the international break, the midfielder only played 8 short minutes in Ligue 1 and 60 in the Europa League.
Fourth in the midfield hierarchy behind Youssouf FofanaMohammad Camara or Eliot Matazo, Jean Lucas would have been shown the exit for Monaco. In pursuit of the young danilo (21), the Monegasque club needs a place in its quota of non-EU players and Jean Lucas is the favorite to start.
