DE24LIVE.de EXCLUSIVE: Berlusconi reports “sole control” over ProSiebenSat1
New German online platform DE24LIVE.de Automatic merger registration with the competition authority
Vienna (OTS) – As the new German online platform DE24LIVE.de reports exclusively, the media holding company of the Berlusconi family, MFE, surprisingly registered its takeover of power at the ProSiebenSat1 Group with various competition authorities this week. While the German competition authority is still apparently keeping this report under wraps and keeping it secret, the Austrian Federal Betting Authority confirmed today that an application has been filed, according to DE24LIVE.de.
Austrian competition authority reports:
Berlusconi’s merger proposal for ProSiebenSat1 is here
According to the Austrian Federal Competition Authority, “MFE – Media For Europe NV” from the Netherlands, where Berlusconi Holding has its European headquarters, has registered the “acquisition of the de facto sole control of ProSiebenSat1 Media DE Germany”.
The Austrian Federal Competition Authority, which is also responsible for the merger because the ProSiebenSat1 Group operates several private broadcasters in Austria, called on the companies concerned to submit their statements by January 10th. The merger registration with the Austrian Federal Competition Authority, which DE24LIVE.de is available, dates from December 13th.
Berlusconi came to power
ProSiebenSat1 is a political bomb
The Berlusconi group’s “de facto sole control” of ProSiebenSat 1 is a political bombshell. Just a few weeks ago, Bavaria’s Prime Minister Söder declared that this “takeover of power” by Berlusconi at Germany’s largest private TV broadcasting group would be “a catastrophe for Germany as a media location” and must be prevented “under all circumstances and with all legal and legal means”.
Until a few days ago, the Berlusconi Group itself had emphasized that a takeover of power at ProSiebenSat 1 was not planned and was “out of the question for the time being”.
Berlusconi has apparently kept secret about
Trustee charged more than 50%
Berlusconi held almost 30 percent of the ProSIebenSat 1 Group, which includes dozens of TV channels such as Pro7, Sat1, Kabel1 and countless offshoots of them, as well as the streaming portal Zappn and countless online holdings. Rumors have recently increased that the Berlusconi Group, which is extremely dissatisfied with the management of ProSiebenSat1, would buy more shares through trustees in order to obtain a European television network. Even media insiders had not expected that Berlusconi’s “Media For Europe” would achieve “actual sole control” of the ProSieben Sat1 group so quickly.
This is the largest earthquake ever recorded
the German media world: “A catastrophe”
With this exclusive report from DE24LIVE.de, a hot media-political debate will now begin in Germany: Will German politics allow Italy’s most controversial politician, Silvio Berlusconi, to take over power at the largest private German TV company via his family? What will Bavaria’s Prime Minister Söder do now? And above all: Can the German Federal Betting Authority ban this takeover at all on the basis of existing laws and EU directives?
In Germany’s media world, no stone will be left unturned. This seizure of power by Berlusconi is a media-political earthquake.
