“Most startups raise money based on an idea. We prospected with a business that was already generating revenue. Today, there are 12,000 users on Tellingtone, including 2,000 subscribers at 5 euros per month,” explains the 26-year-old business manager.
Geoffrey Petit-Jean-Genat, known as Superflame, first hit on his YouTube channel “51 imitations in 5 minutes”. He was only 17 when he started. “I was able to quickly generate income equivalent to the minimum wage, thanks to advertising revenue. My audience has grown to over half a million subscribers today. »
An actor’s heart in the role of an entrepreneur
By foreseeing Tellingtone, Superflame quickly becomes familiar with the corporate world. “I had to learn everything there was to know about entrepreneurship, because basically I’m a self-taught artist and I didn’t know this world. »
The Entreprendre Savoie network granted an honorary loan of 30,000 euros to its audio platform project. In mid-November 2022, fundraising was revealed in the amount of 200,000 euros thanks to entrepreneurs from the Annecy basin whose entry ticket amounted to 50,000 euros on average. “The BPI is offering us an innovation loan equal to the value of our fundraising”, welcomes the author with a thousand and one voices.

This savings of 400,000 euros will be invested in professional recording studios which will open in Annecy in the first half of 2023. “On Tellingtone, we produce our own content to control our creative process from start to finish and create an ecosystem directly with the user community. This is our specificity. »
Already, the YouTuber Superflame is planning derivative products for his sound universes: “We are taking the book industry a bit backwards. We offer the audio version but those who wish could buy the book, which could also give a taste for reading to young audiences. Superflame has graphic designers around it who work on its book covers and its Tellingtone platform.
As a good entrepreneur, Geoffrey Petit-Jean-Genas has deployed his commercial strategy: “To develop ourselves, we plan to create small free videos with quality content. We hope that people will watch them with pleasure and that they will want to subscribe. It’s a content strategy as I have experienced myself during these nine years on YouTube. »
