Toulouse: the Halle de la Machine is decked out in its finest Christmas finery
During the holidays, Asterion the Minotaur invites you to the Halle de La Machine for a magical holiday. It all starts this weekend with the Real Almost Christmas Market.
These Christmas holidays promise to be completely frosty at the Halle de la Machine. It all starts this Saturday, December 17, at 2 p.m., with the Real Almost Christmas Market. On the forecourt of the Halle, the public is invited to do their last Christmas shopping. For this, he will have the choice between personalized musical postcards, original screen prints, monster soft toys (coudoulinos), drawings, children’s books and many unique pieces… All these poetic and original objects were designed by the Real Machinists.
Also on Saturday, the Halle de la Machine offers night tours until 11 p.m. This is an opportunity to visit the stable of night machines, with torches and music. There will be fire, snow, spider alarm clocks, all sprinkled with a myriad of decibels. The machinist-musicians of the Halle de la Machine reinterpret, in a rock’n’roll and mechanical way, the traditional Christmas carols. This promises the atmosphere.
And to warm up, snack stands will offer chestnuts, pancakes, waffles, chocolate and mulled wine… This same True Almost Christmas Market continues on Sunday, December 18, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
After this magical weekend, the Halle de la Machine will reopen on Tuesday 20 December. Throughout the holidays, it will offer Winter Tales and Varied. These stories will be told and set to music by the True Machinists, at 4 p.m. and 4:45 p.m., Monday to Friday but also this weekend of December 17 and 18. This will take place in a forest of fir trees in front of the Halle, under flakes of artificial snow, in the heat of the braziers, and it’s free.
Concerning the trips on the back of minotaurs, they will also be on the program, all the holidays. At nightfall, Asterion will be lit by a torch, just to bring a magical touch to the ride. The Carré-Sénart merry-go-round will also be part of the party.
As for the spider, it reserves several surprise daily awakenings for visitors inside the Halle.
From January 1, the Halle de la Machine will lower the curtain for a month. For five weeks, the small and large machines of the mechanical bestiary will treat themselves to a fitness cure. On the program: dismantling, overhaul, emptying, cleaning, maintenance, painting and varnishing.
