The end of the 3G rule should bring relief in care
Coronavirus
The end of the 3G rule in nursing homes will also be implemented in Salzburg’s retirement and nursing homes. The home regulations could be stronger individually, but there is support for the relief of visitors and staff. The FFP2 mask requirement remains.
Health Minister Johannes Rauch (Greens) had left it open to the federal states to maintain the 3G obligation independently. In Salzburg, the LH.Stv. Martina Berthold (Greens) but no approval for it. They are taking Rauch’s course and have already informed the health facilities about it, says Berthold.
In addition, there is no need for complex visitor management, especially for Christmas, adds the State Councillor. This brings both cost savings and relief for the nursing staff.
Hagenauer: Finding a way back to normality
That’s how the Salzburg social councilor Anja Hagenauer (SPÖ) sees it. She is happy about the federal solution. Of course, there is still a risk of infection, but you have to find your way back to normal, says Hagenauer. However, both social officer Berthold and social councilor Hagenauer appeal to a relative to act sensibly and to continue to refrain from visiting old people’s and nursing homes in the event of illness.
