Slippery conditions, fog: the MRI places Belgium on double yellow alert
The IRM met the motorists on guard.

VSOn Friday afternoon and evening, some light snowfall will still be possible in the east of the country, and in particular in the provinces of Limburg, Liège and Namur; they could still lead to slippery conditions. Tonight, fog will form (persist) in many parts of the country and, given the freezing night temperatures, it will be freezing. Consequently, caution is still required following the formation of patches of ice or frost and, in places, the presence of a (thin) layer of snow.
The IRM predicts the formation (persistence) of partially freezing fog with visibilities sometimes less than 500 m, or even locally less than 200 m. In the east of the country, the fog will mainly concern the heights (following the low clouds), then it will be mainly present in the valleys. Visibility can vary greatly in time and space. This Saturday during the day, it will gradually improve but the fog could be tenacious in the low altitude regions.
