A new reality in the Metaverse and a collection of accessories in the program
A fashion school that focuses on art in Florence. So Istituto Marangoni announced the renewal of the I’M Mentors project with the artist Andy Picci and stylist Paul Andrew, two key figures in the sector who will share projects with the students of the School of Fashion & Art in Via dei Tornabuoni. «We have always wanted to invest in the peculiarities that characterize Florence in the world – explained the director of the Florentine school Lorenzo Tellini – the students who have continued to choose this location in Marangoni for their training in the field of fashion even during the pandemic period, wish to have the added value that this city has always expressed and that we have intercepted and returned by enhancing paths that know how to bring together art and fashion. We are so proud to be able to reconfirm the Mentorships of Andy Picci and Paul Andrew for years has followed the creative direction of Salvatore Ferragamo. In fact, both Mentorship paths will lead to the realization of a concrete project: a new reality in the Metaverse in the case of Andy Picci, and a collection of accessories for Mentorship by Paul Andrew. This allows us to give them all the necessary tools to face the reality of the world of work and to see the results of the creative process in which I am involved» concludes Tellini.
The conceptual artist Andy Picci has in fact been involved in the Multimedia Arts and Arts Curating courses for a work that revolves around the search for personal identity. Thanks to this project, which will accompany students throughout the academic year and will end in June 2022, young talents will have the opportunity to share their work and research on Spatial, a virtual reality platform, giving life to a Metaverse curated by the students of Arts Curating and animated by the works created by the Multimedia Arts course, which will be visible to the public in September 2023, in conjunction with the Art Show of Istituto Marangoni Florence. Starting in February 2023, the Mentorship led by Paul Andrew will instead involve Accessories Design and Fashion Design students in a special project dedicated to fashion and accessories design. Students will be invited to develop their own accessories collection, interpreting the theme that Paul Andrew will share with them.
