HLW SPITTAL – Pupils on an educational trip: HLW:UNTERWEGS – A special educational trip to Salzburg
Strengthening the class community, the opportunity to make new experiences and to support young people comprehensively are aspects of the educational work at the HLW Spittal. As part of the HLW pre-Christmas excursion for the first classes, the school encourages its trainees in a special way.
The student report underscores this with a very personal note:
On Monday, December 12th, 2022, the classes 1BHW, 1AMW, 1AFSB, 1BFSB and 1ZFW of the HLW Spittal will go to Salzburg. The train ride allows the students to get closer to each other in conversations.
Arrived in Salzburg, we walked to the first destination, the House of Nature. Each class had a one-hour guided tour, during which various highlights of the exhibition were presented. After that there was another hour to browse the museum itself. In the associated Science Center, the young people were allowed to try out and carry out experiments themselves. From 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. we had a lunch break to strengthen ourselves for the rest of the day. After the lunch break, Prof. Mag. Dr. Vanessa Steiner in the old town of Salzburg, on the Domplatz and Kapitelplatz with its wonderful historic buildings. There, everyone visited the monastery bakery St. Peter, which is only operated by water power and still bakes the bread in wood-fired ovens from the Middle Ages. The head chef Franz Grabmer explained all the processes to the interested parties in detail. The groups were impressed by the introduced golden sphere, the Sphaera, the work of art by Stephan Balkenhol.
At the end we spent a relaxing time with our teachers at the Christmas market and were able to enjoy the pre-Christmas atmosphere together. It was very cold in Salzburg and everyone was happy to soon be able to board the warm train to Spittal. Starting a little late, we were able to review the many varied experiences on the way home.
Good organization was the responsibility of Prof. Mag. Amata Reiner. The class leaders of the individual classes accompanied their protégés. It was a day full of new impressions and information, which all CPR students really enjoyed.
