10 days to Christmas: How much does the festive dinner cost?
Exactly 10 days to go Christmas. After the drastic jump in the prices of food products, bTV is checking how much the festive meal will cost this year in Burgas and in the village of Lyuti Brod in Vratsa.
Like many residents of Burgas, Rositsa Topalova prefers to shop at neighborhood stores.
“For the Christmas meal, we are thinking of the most important thing – the sarmits – 1 kg of pork mince and 1 kg of neck steaks. I am also thinking of the fingerlings, here is a raw-dried neck”.
This costs Rositsa BGN 35.
“The prices are already much higher than last year and the difference is drastic. It almost doubles,” said Georgi Popov, owner of a meat shop.
Christmas will be rich for the Todorov family from the village of Lyuti Brod in Vratsa, because they do not rely only on pensions.
“There will be pork, we also have goat meat, we also have chickens, we raised everything, let me tell you,” says Gina Todorova.
Over 200 jars of winter wine have been closed by the owner.
“I’ve made pickles with honey, roasted peppers with honey,” she added.
In Burgas, we put sauerkraut, pickles, dates, nuts and fruits in the bags.
“Apples, pears, persimmons, pomegranates. If I talk about the abundance on the table and the symbolism of abundance, I see it all in the fruits,” added Topalova.
There will also be pogacha, chocolate cake and drinks on the table.
In the home of the Todorovi family, on holidays, ruinous wine will be poured for fear, because there are five cans of homemade grapes.
The final bill: in Burgas, the meal does not cost around BGN 150. In Lyuti Brod – twice as much, but with additional work.
