Cash ceiling and payments with pos. The EU rejects some Italian choices but gives the green light to the maneuver
The European Commission gives the go-ahead to the Italian Maneuver deeming it “overall in line with the indications”, but criticizes the measures contrary to the indications given by the EU to Italy on the fight against tax evasion. Among these, the raising of the cash capThe limit of 60 euros for payments with the pos – which the Government seems willing to drops to 40 euros – and some interventions on pensions. The hot topic is above all that of electronic payments: between those who say that freedom must first and foremost belong to customers and those who, like merchants, feel the weight of commissions. The president of Confcommercio of the province of Rimini, Gianni Indino, does not in fact share the position of Brussels. For him, evasion must be sought elsewhere: “Not at the bar where you buy a coffee, but in the multinationals, especially digital, which fight in our state but pay taxes elsewhere. Otherwise hundreds of millions of euros would arrive in our coffers. It is necessary to pay taxes in Italy too. Same market, same rules, because if they pay the same taxes as traders, they won’t crush them”.
