Weather alert Naples and Campania 14-15 December 2022
The Multi-Risk Functional Center of the Civil Protection of the Campania Region has issued a hydrogeological and hydraulic weather alert valid on all areas of the regional territory starting from 6.00 on Wednesday 14 December until 6.00 on Thursday 15. The level of criticality and color “yellow”.
“Scattered precipitations, including downpours or thunderstorms, punctually of moderate intensity” are expected.
These are the main event scenarios and effects on the ground:
– Surface runoffs with possible material transport phenomena;
– Possible flooding of underground rooms and those on the ground floor;
– Surface flow of water in road sediments, possible phenomena of regurgitation of rainwater disposal systems with overflowing and involvement of depressed areas;
– Rising hydrometric levels of watercourses, with flooding of neighboring areas, also due to local criticalities (tombing, restrictions, etc.);
– Possible flooding of underground rooms and those located on the ground floor;
– Possible rock falls in several points of the territory and occasional landslides linked to particularly fragile hydrogeological conditions, due to soil saturation, even in the absence of rainfall.
The summary picture:
- A yellow weather alert issued yesterday by the regional Civil Protection is currently in force throughout Campania (with the exception of zones 4 and 7: Alta Irpinia and Sannio; Tanagro), expiring at 18 today.
- From 18.01 today until 5.59 tomorrow morning Green throughout the region.
- From 6am tomorrow morning (December 14th) until 6am the day after tomorrow (December 15th) yellow weather alert over the whole of Campania.
