Health Program Manager Mozambique, based in Lucerne – Switzerland
We are seeking a talented candidate to manage an exciting and dynamic portfolio of countries (70-90% employment).
your role
- Development of the long-term strategy and thematic orientation of the country program in close cooperation with the country team.
- Manage the project and program cycle including planning, budgeting, monitoring, reporting, protocol framework development and project documentation.
- Oversee and coordinate the implementation of key projects and actively monitor the annual operational plan and budget execution.
- Work closely with the country team to develop new project proposals and identify new funding opportunities while actively maintaining relationships with current key donors.
- Take over human resources, financial management and administration including recruitment, in cooperation with the SolidarMed Finance & Services team.
- Manage the relationship with key partner organizations.
- As an active member of our international programs team, you will contribute to other new project developments, evaluation testing and knowledge management.
- Contribute to the development of our organizational skills.
- They are active in national and international networking events and take part in relevant conferences as representatives of SolidarMed.
- Annual program-related trips abroad (up to 3 weeks per year).

They offer the following
- Master’s degree or higher in a health or development related field.
- Demonstrated strong understanding of public health issues in resource-constrained settings.
- At least two years of practical experience in project management in sub-Saharan Africa. Experience in fragile or humanitarian contexts is an advantage.
- You can demonstrate strong leadership qualities.
- Strong analytical and excellent planning and organizational skills, ability to work in a dynamic environment, meet deadlines and manage diverse requirements.
- Experience in writing persuasive technical proposals and reports to institutional donors.
- Business fluent knowledge of English and German; Good knowledge of at least one of the following languages: Portuguese, French, Spanish, Italian. A willingness to learn Portuguese is essential.
- Swiss or EU citizens or a valid work permit for Switzerland is mandatory.
