Palazzo Tursi, school children decorate the Christmas tree
Genoa. Also this year the traditional decoration of the Christmas tree of Palazzo Tursi took place in the company of the children of the Scuola Di Negro Chiabrera and Scuola Padovano de Scalzi, at the “Nonni per Tutti” project of Auser Liguria under the supervision of the Pro Loco Centro Ancient .
The laurel “cimello”, donated by Coldiretti, was placed near the staircase, in the Tursi courtyard, and was decorated with red ribbons, tangerines, colored balls, dried fruit and natalini, the traditional Christmas pasta of Genoa.
«For six years now we haven’t given up on the Christmas tree in Tursi and this year too we wanted to experience this moment, that of decorating the Genoese cimello, together with the schools. It is very nice to experience the joy of Christmas together with the little ones – said the councilor for Commerce, Pro Loco and Traditions Paola Bordilli – because they always make us rediscover that something that adults often forget, like the magic of decorating the tree, whether it’s with your family or with your classmates. I want to sincerely thank the Proloco Centro Antico which, together with the Auser project “Grandparents for all”, has testified to our traditions at the Di Negro Chiabrera and Padovano de Scalzi schools, bringing them the rigorously Genoese atmosphere of Christmas”.
While setting up the tree, the mayor of the city Marco Bucci also made a point of greeting the young students who, before taking action, listened very carefully to the story of the flag of Genoa and the story of the pandolce wanted by Andrea Doria staged by figures in medieval costume.
A second cimello will be set up on 15 December at the Matitone. The protagonists will always be the schools and the Pro Loco Centro Antico and Pro Loco Sampierdarena.
