The San Marino and Montefeltro Green Festival with the widow Guerra: “No pigsties in Valmarecchia”
“Come Green Festival of San Marino and Montefeltrowe feel like echoing the open letter of Lorra Warpoet’s wife Tony Warto come the landscape and cultural value of the Valmarecchiaspecifically the area located between Maiolo and San Leo, both seriously endangered from the project of intensive farming of chickens, by a giant in the sector”. Gabriele Geminiani, creator of the San Marino and Montefeltro Green Festival, claims it in a note
Lora Guerra refers “to the sheds that already existed in the municipality of Maiolo and which now, according to a new project of a multinational approved by the same municipality, kept hidden up to now from the locals and the inhabitants of the valley, will become much more numerous, precisely 19, transforming and completely disfiguring the affected area.”
His letter is an authentic cry of pain addressed to mayors of Maiolo, San Leo, Novafeltria in addition to the President of the Province of Rimini, the President of the Emilia Romagna Region and the Superintendency of Ravenna.
“In such a delicate moment – insists Geminiani – in which attention to the problems of nature and the environment is so relevant, we wonder how we can still proceed with such destructive and irreparable methods towards a territory with a clear and recognized tourist and cultural vocation. How is this macroscopic detachment possible between the course of history and the so wicked and short-sighted choices of local politics? That policy of continuing to open in the old internal territories and fragile production sites, as well as anti-ecological and aggressive activities such as in question, simply because creating (for a few, and always those…) some ephemeral benefit in the immediate future, risks forever precluding a true sustainable and cultural development of our communities and related services, such as in crafts and biodiversity agri-food, great opportunities to relaunch the economy of the valleys in line with the ecological transition underway and d inescapable. We therefore ask, we beg, citizens and personalities from the world of culture, entertainment and research to put their voices in order to ensure that this umpteenth massacre is not carried out.”
