Livorno, the night cornetteria opens in Venice
It was from the times ‘Of those of the Night’, the nighttime croissant that was once located in Piazza della Repubblica, that no one had ever reopened a similar place in Livorno. Raffaele De Cesare is doing it now. Originally from Campania, he decided to embark on this new adventure in Piazza del Luogo Pio, in the Venice district, despite the shadows of the economic crisis and the tremendous increase in bills caused by the cost of electricity. Nick Stopthis is the name of the restaurant, it will be open from Monday (as early as tomorrow 12 December) to Thursday from 19.30 to 3 in the morning, and on Friday and Saturday from 19.30 to 5. “I decided to open a night croissant – he said – because I since Livorno lacks it, and I think it will be appreciated as an idea”.
How did the choice of the Venice district come about?
“Because it is very characteristic and I believe that my structure, being in the American style, will distort the piazza of Luogo Pio a bit”.
What will your specialties be?
“Cornets in various flavors, which are now the most popular, for example at Ferrero Rocher, Kinder Bueno and Snickers, and later I will also make additions, all produced by us”.
Expensive bills and rising material costs don’t scare you?
“We have calculated everything, and we hope that our business idea will please you”.
You have chosen an area which is subject to Ztl at night, therefore difficult to reach by car. How do you plan to overcome this situation?
“We focus on take-away boxes and home delivery through the Just Eat and Deliveroo channels. Obviously it will also be possible to come here directly and take what you want”.
