Bayern Munich are studying the return of Alexander Nübel, loaned to Monaco
Victim of a broken right leg, Manuel Neuer (36) will be out for six months and Bayern Munich does not intend to end the season with Sven Ulreich, his number 2 goalkeeper, as starter. The Bavarian leaders are looking for a holder and they are interested in Dominik Livakovic, the Croatian who is currently shining at the World Cup. Dinamo Zagreb could accept a transfer as early as January.
But Bayern are studying another lead as a priority, leading to Alexander Nübel (26), whom they are loaning to Monaco for the second season in a row. No clause obliges ASM to release him this winter, and the German goalkeeper has already said that he does not see himself returning to Bavaria as long as Neuer is number 1. The situation is now different, because he would be installed for the phase return. Coach Julian Nagelsmann appreciates him and he could notably play in the knockout stages of the Champions League against Paris-SG (February 14 and March 8).
Monaco would recruit in the event of Nübel’s departure
Nübel is training as normal, waiting for negotiations to be induced between the two clubs, as Bayern will have to compensate Monaco to shorten the loan. Appreciated at ASM despite generally disappointing performances, he would be replaced in the event of departure, because Thomas Didillon (27) is the only experienced goalkeeper in the squad.
