the social centers refuse to sign the framework agreement
It was offered to them in the context of negotiations concerning their funding. Agents are asking for more resources.
They fear seeing them disappear. The social centers of Marseille, whose staff have been mobilized for several weeks, have indicated that they refuse to sign the framework agreement that was offered to them, while negotiations with all the funders were initiated at the beginning of December.
The framework agreement that governs the financing of social centers is renewed every four to five years. But, “during the meetings with the representatives of the State and the Caf des Bouches-du-Rhône, we did not receive any concrete answer, in particular on the financial aspects”, can we read in a press release from the Union of social centers of Bouches-du-Rhône.
Social centers under threat
The association denounces funding “far below the stakes” and calls in particular for “revalued operating subsidies taking inflation into account” as well as “funding for key positions for the family and youth sectors”.
Since last Wednesday, the agents have been on strike. They worked Thursday, December 1 on the Old Port. Several social centers are threatened within the city of Marseille if new funding offered is not granted.
