Nocturne, market and Christmas stories
During the Christmas holidays, the Machine Hall offer a whole program dedicated to young and old. Three highlights are to be discovered with Asterion, the Minotaur. Christmas carols, chestnuts, waffles, chocolate, mulled wine and braziers are on the program.
A night with Asterion
First highlight of the holidays: the nocturnal from Saturday 17 December. The Halle de la Machine remains open until 11 p.m. exceptionally. Visitors could then discover “the fabulous mechanics of the stable of machines” all at night, by the light of the flares.
Torch in hand, Asterion the Minotaur extended his travels until dusk, while the bestiary of the Carré Sénart merry-go-round will turn heads during a fiery and musical round. Magical!”, describes the Halle.
A “real almost Christmas market”
If the Christmas markets have settled everywhere in Haute-Garonne, the Halle de la Machine wishes to organize its own. On Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 December, a “real almost Christmas market” awaits visitors. Machinists will then become creators and will offer their work to the most curious.
“Musical postcard, original screen print, or hand-stitched monster comforter?” announce the organizers. The market will be open on Saturday 17 from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. and on Sunday 18 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
“Winter and Varied” Tales
Young and old alike can immerse themselves in the magical atmosphere through readings of winter and varied tales. It happens throughout the winter vacation at the Machine Hall. Snowflakes and torchieres will be in place to give travelers a warm welcome.
Many meetings are already scheduled from Saturday 17 to Friday 30 December. Tales for children aged 8-11 will be at 4 p.m. and for 4-7 year olds at 4:45 p.m. except on December 24 and days when the Halle de la Machine is closed. Small particularity for Saturday December 17: at 4:45 p.m., the tale will be translated into French sign language.
