The couple Bruno de Carvalho and Liliana Almeida also stood out — alongside actor Will Smith, who gave that famous snap at the Oscars.
Will Smith slapped Chris Rock, Bruno de Carvalho participated in “Big Brother: Famosos”, a war between Russia and Ukraine started and fuel reached unimaginable values. 2022 was a super busy year. Therefore, as is normal, the Portuguese went millions of times to the Google search engine to find out more about these and other topics.
It is already a tradition for the search platform to disclose, at the end of each year, the most searched terms. This Wednesday, December 7, Google then revealed that the Portuguese enjoyed a special interest in the international political climate, not being some of the most searched words “Ukraine” and “Russia”.
Of course, we are also not indifferent to the economy, which is proven by the presence of “IVAucher” and “AutoVoucher” in the ranking. In the category of Programs, Series and Films, “Big Brother: Famosos” was the most researched project in our country. The popularity of the reality presented by Cristina Ferreira was such that even the competitors were searched on Google daily. Bruno de Carvalho was number one, as expected.
In terms of international controversy, Will Smith and Chris Rock were two of the foreign names most often written on Google, regarding the historic ceremony of the Oscars this year. The controversial court case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard is also featured on the 2022 Popularity List.
To arrive at these rankings, the platform studies the aggregation of trillions of searches and information from various sources, including its public Google Trends tool, as well as other internal information resources. They are, of course, filtered out as spam and repeated searches to create a more reliable list.
