LoC (M) | Paris continues its series in Porto
Mistreated in the first period, Paris Saint-Germain finally won in Porto (35:33) to win their eighth European success in a row.
All European matches are not a long calm river. If, for Paris Saint-Germain, several of his last outings had won without too much concern, Raul Gonzalez’s men had to work hard to bring back the two points from their trip to Porto.
In the ropes at the start of the match, unable to manage the opposing fast game and the pivot Victor Iturriza, they counted up to five goals behind. But, helped by the entry of Jannick Green into the cage and carried offensively by Elohim Prandi, they had turned the situation around in fifteen minutes, even momentarily taking the lead before the break, where Porto still led by a length (17:16 ).
It was finally after the break that Paris sealed their victory. In particular thanks to a 4:0 passed in five minutes, in the wake of a Dainis Kristopans still in good shape. Nikola Karabatic even increased the Parisian lead to five units a quarter of an hour from the end (29:24), before Andreas Palicka closed the shop definitively in the last five minutes.
Thanks to this victory, Paris temporarily takes a three-point lead over Veszprem, who will face Plock tomorrow. The Parisians still have one game to negotiate before the truce, the reception of the Germans in Magdeburg next Wednesday.
