Ten athletes, many medals and third place as a club: Tana delle Tigri dominates in San Marino
ORBETELLO – Unexpected haul of medals for the baby athletes of the Tana delle Tigri team at the International Open Karate for Kids in San Marino. A good technical competition took place in the splendid setting of the Palaeventi Domus in San Marino, thanks also to the excellent organization of the San Marino Federation (FESAM), represented by the President Maurizio Mazza, and his staff.
Also good level of arbitration, followed by the FESAM Manager Fabio Castellucci, always constructive and available to resolve small misunderstandings and/or discussions.
Excellent work in the distribution of categories and registrations, by the secretariat followed by maestro Alessio Magnelli.
A small great feat of the team from Orbetella that with only ten athletes aged between 7 and 12, all of whom finished with medals, managed to climb to third place in the club classification, on an equal footing with friends from the Livorno Sport Karate Academy.
Excellent account of a work made of commitment, sacrifice also of families, but carried out with passion, love for karate and, last but not least, lots of fun.
In the obstacle course good performances by the little ones Giordano Innocenti, second, and Cristian Valeri, third. Giordano also shows off in the technical test and in the kata with two excellent second places. Cristian is bronze in the technical test and silver in the kata. His brother Cesare, 8 years old, is bronze in Kumite, silver in the technical test and gold in the kata with a splendid performance.
Giacomo Innocenti takes away three heavy gold medals: in the technical test, in the kata and also in the kumite with two sweeping matches.
Excellent performances also by 11-year-old boys and girls; with Alessandro Sandor with a silver in the technical test, bronze in kumite and undisputed gold in the kata. For Vittoria Giustarini a bronze in kumite and two golds in the technical test and kata. Francesca Tanzini conquers two silvers in the technical test and in the kata, as well as an extraordinary gold in kumite with two superlative matches embellished by two ippon in the first and two in the second.
The Geres twins do not disappoint as usual, increasing their substantial collection of medals: Leon wins two silvers in the technical test and in the kata and bronze in the kumite spoiled by a questionable refereeing, while Alex takes away the silver in the kata and kumite and gold in the technical test.
The only one in the beginners category is Mario Ferrini who wins the silver in the kata (penalized by the discordant scores of many of the 5 judges) and the gold in kumite.
An unforgettable weekend therefore for the team assisted by maestro Nevio Sabatini, coached by instructor Mourad Lamine and led by coaches Tamara Calchetti and Michele Giustarini, whose contribution is always decisive in management and control.
