Free list still competes in Vaduz – Liechtenstein
VADUZ – The Freie Liste has found a candidate for the municipal council elections after all: 28-year-old Jakob Becker is to represent the “white” in the Vaduz municipal council.
“With Jakob Becker, we are nominating another young, committed candidate who will represent the political side of the Free List in the best possible way,” the party wrote in a statement on Tuesday. The Freie Liste is sending a total of eight municipal council candidates and one mayor candidate nationwide.
Jakob Becker was born in 1993 and, according to the announcement, spent his childhood up to secondary school in Vaduz. “After staying in Vienna and Innsbruck for several years, he has been living in Vaduz again for a year now with his wife Anna — and they like it here very much,” writes Freie Liste.
With a mandate in the municipal council, Becker wants to work ecologically for a social and sustainable environmental policy that responds to people’s needs and protects our nature. “It is also particularly important to him to question the status quo of our mobility and to make our local transport future-oriented. Modern ideas and innovative concepts should create fair conditions for all road users and promote resource-saving, environmentally friendly transport methods,” writes Freie Liste .
In 2019, the Freie Liste won two seats in Vaduz
The party leadership had already announced to the members at the nomination event two weeks ago that there might be a candidate for Vaduz. The base therefore gives the board permission to nominate further candidates.
In Vaduz, the Freie Liste had won two seats on the municipal council in 2019. However, the incumbent councilors Stefanie Hasler and Stefan Gstöhl are not standing for a second term. Gstöhl, for his part, had already resigned from the Free List in the course of the party dispute.
