Women’s volleyball league: Difficult “exit” in Thessaloniki for Olympiakos
The Olympiakos Women’s volleyball team will travel to Thessaloniki as tomorrow, Saturday (3/12) at 5 p.m. faces PAOK, for the 8th matchday of the Volley League.
Top derby for PAOK and Olympiacos, with the “red and white” coming from a 3-1 set win against Aris in Rentis’ closed “M. Merkouri”, and they want to “escape” with the victory from the headquarters of the “black and white”, celebrating their seventh victory in eight matches in the championship (they have only lost to Panathinaikos).
The coach of Olympiakos, Lorenzo Micelli noted:
“We are waiting for this match to evaluate our level and the opponent. PAOK is first, without a lost game, so this match is a challenge for us. We had a good week of training and we are going to the home of PAOK to win. We respect all teams and we are not afraid of any, as long as we play our game, play our way and have a big game.”
While the experienced center, Katerina Iota in her turn explained:
“We have a demanding and difficult game ahead of us, one of many to come. Still, it’s too early to judge anything. Of course we want to win, but we are looking to improve every day and raise the level of our game. A demanding competition program begins, starting from tomorrow, for this reason and we must present ourselves ready, physically and mentally, in order to close 2022 in the best possible way”.
