With Thomas Ramos and Julien Marchand, he was one of three French internationals from Toulouse left to rest on Saturday, November 26, for the trip to Lyon. Back from vacation, after having played the 3 autumn events of the XV of France, the third row Anthony Jelonch (26 years old; 22 caps) will put on the Stade Toulousain jersey again this Saturday, December 3 (5 p.m.) against Perpignanon behalf of the 12e day of Top 14. He delivered his impressions, this Friday, December 2, in a pre-match press conference.
“I took the opportunity to return to the Gers and go see Colomiers-Grenoble”
After participating in the successes of the Blues against Australia, South Africa and Japan, the Toulousain Anthony Jelonch is back to business, this Saturday, December 3 for the reception of Perpignan at Ernest-Wallon. And this, with an optimal physical condition, after having been on vacation last week:
“I took the opportunity to go home to the Gers until last Friday, ”says the person concerned. “And in the evening, I went to see the Pro D2 match between Colomiers and Grenoble, because I have a friend who plays in Colomiers (Paul Pimienta trained in Auch and finalist in the 2014 French Junior Crabos Championship alongside him, Ed). So it was rest and a bit of rugby too…”
“I’m going to play a big game this Saturday against Perpignan”
Author of a full autumn tour with the XV of France, since he contested all three international tests (240 minutes on the clock), Anthony Jelonch is not satisfied and would even have preferred not to cut by going straight to the Top 14: “It’s true that the 3 games with the Blues were very intense, but I didn’t receive any blows or small glitches, so the recovery went well and was fairly quick, ”explains the international from Vic-Fezensac (Gers), before continuing:
“I was in great shape, but this week off was still beneficial, because sometimes you have to take a little vacation. Now I have my mind at Stade Toulousain and I’m going to play a big game this Saturday against Perpignan.”
Arrived in Toulouse in 2021, from Castres, Anthony Jelonch seems delighted to find the Toulouse public in an Ernest-Wallon stadium which will be sold out for the 6e consecutive time this season, Saturday against Usap. “It’s really nice to see all this enthusiasm behind us over the weekend. We see that we are followed thoroughly. In the tougher times on the pitch, the crowd pushes behind us again and again. It is now up to us to respond to them in the best possible way on the ground…”
Starting with the reception of Perpignan (13e), this Saturday, December 3 (5 p.m.), to try to end a series of 3 games without a win for the Stadistes, before starting the European games: December 11 at Munster (Ireland) and December 18 against Sale (England ).
