Iserlohn Roosters close in on DEG – outdoor game on Saturday in Cologne

Things are not going well for the Düsseldorf EG at the moment. On the contrary. By winning the NRW duel, the Iserlohn Roosters, who won 7:4 (2:0, 2:2, 3:2), moved up to one point behind the Rhinelanders. The Sauerlanders were already 3-0 ahead before the guests were successful. At 6:2 the game seemed already decided, but the red and yellow came back to 4:6, also because coach Roger Hansson took his goalkeeper off the ice for another field player early in the final period. But a good three minutes before the end, Casey Bailey secured the sack with his second goal of the evening. The other goals for the IEC came from Eugen Alanov, Sena Acolatse, Emile Poirier, Sven Ziegler and Eric Cornel. The Düsseldorf goals mark Alex Ehl (2), Philip Gogulla and Tobias Eder.
In the duel between the Schwenninger Wild Wings and the Augsburg Panthers, Schwenningen goalkeeper Joacim Eriksson was the match winner – because he didn’t allow a goal. In the 46th minute he was the center of attention when he saved a Panther penalty from Adam Johnson. The game remained goalless throughout regulation time. After 50 seconds, Tylor Spink scored the winning goal for the Wild Wings to make it 1-0 (0-0, 0-0, 0-0, 1-0).
Thus, the Schwenninger sat down in twelfth place from the Eisbären Berlin, who suffered another defeat. This time it was a 1:2 (0:0, 1:1, 0:1) against the Straubing Tigers. Travis St. Denis gave Bayern the lead in the 23rd minute. Kevin Clark used a double advantage to equalize (28th). A power play by the guests brought Parker Tuomie the winning goal in the 45th minute. 23 seconds before the second break, Marco Nowak received a game penalty for a knee check.
The Bietigheim Steelers are still stuck in last place. The Grizzlies Wolfsburg won against the bottom of the DEL team 3:1 (2:0, 0:1, 1:0). Jean-Christophe Beaudin and Trevor Mingoia scored to give Lower Saxony a 2-0 lead. Teemu Lepaus made it back, but Darren Archibald’s goal in the 50th minute sealed the game.
ERC Ingolstadt goalkeeper Kevin Reich celebrated a shutout on foreign ice. In the Fischtown Pinguins, Bremerhaven won the Panthers 3-0 (0-0, 1-0, 2-0). It was tighter than it sounds, though. Stefan Matteau’s goal in the 25th minute was the only goal of the game for a long time. In the final minute, Enrico Henriquez Morales and Ferderik Storm scored two empty net goals.
The Nuremberg Ice Tigers lost 4-1 (0-1, 1-2, 0-1) to leaders EHC Red Bull Munich. Frederik Tiffels and Andreas Eder put the Primus in front before Patrick Reimer was successful for the Franks. But then Zach Redmond and Maximilian Kastner make everything clear.
On Thursday, the Kölner Haie won 3-1 (1-1, 1-0, 1-0) against the Löwen Frankfurt in the “indoor dress rehearsal” for the outdoor game on Saturday against Mannheim. David McIntyre and Andreas Thuresson scored the goals for the KEC. The Frankfurt goal goes to Dylan Wruck.
