Toulouse: old vehicles classified Crit’Air 4 and 5 can still drive 52 days a year in the Low Emission Zone (ZFE), from 2023
Toulouse Métropole has announced that owners of private vehicles, vans and motorcycles classified Crit’Air 4 or 5 or not classified, could even drive in the Low Emission Zone (ZFE), up to 52 days a year.
During the first meeting of the “Monitoring Committee” of the Low Emission Zone (ZFE) of Toulouse Métropole, Friday, November 25, Vice-President François Chollet announced to the associations present, the implementation of new exemptions to the Zone low emissions.
From 2023, vehicles classified Crit’Air 4 and 5, and unclassified, will be prohibited from circulating within the perimeter of the ZFE, i.e. an area which includes Toulouse inside the ring road, and the western ring road.
Requests to consent to be carried out on each trip
But the Metropolis has decided that the owners of these vehicles considered too polluting, could still drive there, within the limit of 52 days per year.
The terms are still to be defined, but the Métropole has announced that the persons concerned must make a request for a provisional forecast. It must be renewed each time you travel within the ZFE. It is not yet clear who will manage these exemption requests.
“This measure is to be welcomed, given the economic and social context and the attachment of motorists and motorcyclists to their vehicle”, declares Agnès Grillou, spokesperson for the Interclub ZFE 31 (FFMC31, Macadam Passion, ASA GTO) , joined by the Automobile Club du Midi.
