Lisbon debuts December with highs of two and a half months – Bolsa
The PSI advanced 1.1% to 5,927.23 points, the highest since September 15th. The national index made its best debut in December, following the positive trend experienced in the main European markets, with the exception of London.
Of the 15 companies listed on the national index, 12 ended with victories, Mota-Engil ended the day unchanged and only two closed in the red.
Semapa, which yesterday was eager to distribution of a dividend from 1,252 euros to December 13, led the rises to advance 3.63%, to 14.86 euros.
The EDP family also shone, with the parent company rising 2.7%, closing at 4.641 euros, and EDP Renováveis gaining 2.54%, up to 22.61 euros. Still in energy, REN appreciated by 2.17%, to 2,585 euros, after yesterday having announced a dividend of 6.4 cents to be paid on December 23rd.
The index was also maintained by Jerónimo Martins, the company with the highest weight on the PSI, which gained 1.89% to 21.6 euros. The owner of Pingo Doce benefited from the upward revision of target pricefrom 23.8 to 24.5 euros, by the Polish bank Biuro maklerskie mBanku.
Limiting the gains of the national index was, mainly, the BCP, which retreated 2.42%, to 0.149 euros, on a day in which the Biuro maklerskie mBanku cut the recommendation for the shares of Bank Millennium, a Polish bank controlled by the institution led by Miguel Maya.
Also Galp, another heavyweight, closed in the red by sliding 0.13% to 11.77 euros.
