San Marino. Demos: “A new policy is possible only with the responsible, serious and competent contribution of all stakeholders”
“Is a new policy possible? Only with the responsible, serious and competent contribution of all stakeholders”.
He declares it Demosunderlining in a press release that “those who follow us know what our reference values are contained in our name ‘Solidarity Democracy’ and appreciate the will to impose a new method of confrontation and political action, a method based on in-depth analysis, on competence and on civil and democratic respect towards the various trade union, entrepreneurial and commercial associations, a method aimed at solving problems and not at creating areas of conflict, conflicts which, if aimed at seeking a synthesis could bring benefit to the community and for however exciting at first glance they turn into sterile controversies, controversies that are disrespectful towards the institutional role covered by the protagonists of these childish disputes”.
And again: “Honestly, as citizens, we are fed up with this indecorous and disappointing spectacle that institutional politics has been giving itself for some years now. Sterile conflict is the essence of selfishness and lack of responsibility, choice and mediation involve the assumption of responsibilities and risks. The Demos method is that of confrontation and competence, that of training, to the best of one’s possibilities, which are the prerogatives of the roles covered by our members. In the Communications paragraph of the current council session we have avoided controversy by preferring to carry out a precise political action, or rather that of politics which must protect the rights of people persecuted for having carried out their role “.
Demos states that he has “proposed an agenda to make our country line up on the side of freedom of information, asking the government to take action for the release of Julian Assange and the Council to propose honorary citizenship to this journalist locked up in British prisons in pending extradition”, trusting that “the Council can support our request”.
Demos says he has “the ambition and the desire to stand as a candidate for the place of filtering and mediation of the needs required of the different categories, of the associations, naturally declined in the vision of solidarity democracy”, since “we are a political force outside the worn-out logic dominant policies and if the parties want to open a ‘window’ of credit to grant us this role, we will exercise it to the maximum of our possibilities”.
“Therefore, in view of the analysis of the 2023 forecast budget and in view of a now full-blown political crisis, we deem it useful to activate a frank and open discussion with all the social partners of the country in order to work together on the capacity of a shared political agenda in content and method; we trust that the maturity of San Marino people and citizens can bring political activity back up to the task it should cover. Demos will commit to this,” Demos says.
