The town hall of Avignon will better regulate the timer of the Christmas illuminations
By presenting its sobriety plan a few days ago, the town hall of Avignon had promised that “This year, the Christmas lights will be turned off at 1 a.m. – whereas previously they were on all night.” This promise was justified by the rising cost of energy. The town hall even added that the Christmas decorations would be lit by LEDs.
Poor setting and lighting all night
But the promise was not kept: many of you have noticed that since the start of the illuminations (Friday, November 25), they have remained on all night. The town hall recognizes a fault in the programming of the lighting. Sensors detect nightfall and program the shutdown seven hours later, around midnight. The town hall of Avignon has seized its services and those of the provider of illuminations to correctly adjust these illuminations.
