The Renault Clio Rally3 will be presented in Andorra in January
The presentation, on January 15 in Pas de la Casa
It is expected to debut in the spring of 2023
The Renault Clio Rally3 already has a date and place of presentation. The French brand has revealed that it will be officially released on Sunday, January 15 at the Andorran circuit of Pas de la Casa.
It had been many months since Markel de Zabaleta announced the arrival of the Renault Clio Rally3. The videos of his tests ran through social networks, but there was not much more official information about it.
The truth is that from the Renault Group they have been working hard on their new machine, designed jointly in the factories of Viry-Châtillon, Enstone – that of the Formula 1 team – and Alpine Dieppe Jean Rédélé.
Already on May 24, an ambitious test program emerged, and it concluded just a few days ago in Spain. At the controls of the car were eight drivers and eleven co-drivers with experience in the Clio Trophy France.
In total there have been 22 full days of testing, which means having completed more than 2,500 kilometers on asphalt and more than 2,000 kilometers on gravel with “extremely positive levels of performance and reliability”, according to the statement from the diamond brand.
With the car already well ‘adventurous’, Renault and Alpine have confirmed that the presentation will take place on January 15 in Pas de la Casa, Andorra.
In addition, the vehicle is already in the FIA homologation process, which is expected to be completed by April. The debut will arrive in the spring of 2023.
It must be said that it is not only another covered step of the FIA pyramid –Renault already had the Clio Rally5 and the Clio Rally4–, but it is also the first all-wheel drive rally car built by the diamond brand.
Let’s remember that in the Rally3 category there was only one protagonist until now, the Ford Fiesta Rally3, so that from 2023 it will have its relevant competition.
