Peace and Sport makes its forum
While the world is facing geopolitical tensions and unprecedented crises, actors of peace through sport are meeting this Wednesday, November 30 at the International Peace and Sport Forum in Monaco.
the 13th International Peace and Sport Forum will be held at Fairmont Monte-Carlo. It will mark the 15th anniversary of the association of the same name based in the Principality. Peace and Sport was created in 2007 by Olympic medalist and modern pentathlon world champion Joël Bouzou. She is placed under the high patronage of HSH Prince Albert II.
The Monegasque sovereign will welcome HRH Prince Khaled Al Waleed, HE Dr. George Manneh WeahPresident of the Republic of Liberia and winner of the 1995 Ballon d’Or, and Rai Oliveira 1994 world champion and PSG legend. All will join Joël Bouzou and other prestigious disadvantages in denying that sport can offer an answer to conflicts and divisions in the world.
Debates, round tables and ceremonies
Leaders from the world of sport, political leaders, experts and researchers, business leaders, representatives of NGOs and “Champions for Peace” athletes will take part in debates and round tables to deepen reflection on the theme “Sport, a response for peace”.
They will examine how the actors of sport and sport, as a tool in the transmission of values, can contribute to shaping more inclusive and peaceful societies. The main objectives of the event are the sharing of knowledge, the promotion of best practices, the diversification of partnerships and the identification of concrete solutions.

In the evening, the ceremony of Peace and Sport Prize will notably reward “the champion of peace of the year”. In total, Marc Maury and Anne-Laure Bonnet, master and mistress of ceremonies, will award six prizes. The 2022 nominees include twelve organizations.
