Oberndorf/Salzburg: Women are making handicrafts again for a good cause – so that small dreams come true at Christmas
Under the motto “Handicrafts for small dreams”, a group of friends from Oberndorf got involved for the fifth time in the Salzburg Children’s Cancer Aid.
The message in full:
Oberdorf/Salzburg – At the Oberndorf weekly market at the end of November, visitors could not only buy handmade Christmas decorations and self-tied Advent wreaths, but also donate to children with cancer. Half of the proceeds benefit the Salzburg Children’s Cancer Aid. The other half goes to the mobile children’s hospice “Papageno” in the city of Salzburg. Over 11,000 euros could be collected by the energetic women. The donation sum was supplemented by 300 euros by the parents’ association of the Göminger kindergarten.
“Fortunately, the survival rate for children with cancer today is over 80 percent. To get our little patients through in the best possible way this hard time To be able to accompany, we are dependent on donations. The women behind the “Handicrafts for small dreams” campaign have been a loyal support for our association for years. It’s nice to see that people are still taking the time to support our protégés despite the stressful pre-Christmas period and the many additional burdens at the moment,” says Heide Janik, Chairwoman of the Salzburg Children’s Cancer Aid.
“Out of personal concern, our group launched this campaign a few years ago. Since then, our round hasn’t only ended every year several “tinkerers” grown, but is now a real institution at the Oberndorf weekly market. We start our handicraft round in autumn and receive the first orders for Advent wreaths. We are delighted that we were again able to collect such a large sum of money this year,” says Christine Schröck on behalf of the entire “Handicrafts for small dreams” team.
