“Miracle healer” cheated a woman in Salzburg out of 35,000 euros – Austria –
In St. Johann im Pongau, a woman fell victim to an alleged miracle healer at the beginning of November.
The 51-year-old became aware of the man on the Internet and contacted him. The stranger assured her that her seriously ill daughter could heal. For his services, the woman first transferred money and later gave jewelry to one of the perpetrator’s assistants, which was to be cleaned of the “black magic” clinging to it. Then the contact broke off.
cash and jewelry
As the police informed on Monday, the man had explained to the woman that he had to free his daughter and her apartment from a damaging spell. The daughter cannot get well otherwise. This requires water blessed by him through prayers. After the mother had repeatedly transferred money for this, the fraudster finally demanded jewelry – which he promised to return after the “cleaning”. There was a meeting with an unknown woman who took the valuables and cash. When the promised cures failed to materialize and the 51-year-old was no longer able to reach the miracle healer, she filed a complaint with the police. The amount of the total damage is around 35,000 euros.
