The Cinémathèque de Toulouse is offering a new festival, dedicated to silent cinema and cine-concerts, two dimensions that are part of its DNA.

05 62 30 30 10 http://www.lacinemathequedetoulouse.com Located on rue du Taur, in the heart of the city, between the Capitole and place Saint Sernin, the Cinémathèque was founded in 1964 by film lovers gathered around the figure of Raymond Borde. More than a place for showing films, it is also a place for archives, exhibitions and restoration of a unique heritage. The Cinémathèque organizes 3 festivals: Cinéma en plein air, Extrême Cinéma (B series, genre cinema, etc.), Cinéminots (young audiences) as well as Histoires de cinéma, which brings together heritage cinema and contemporary cinema. The Cinémathèque also presents exhibitions, meetings and cine-concerts. The collection Nearly 50,000 copies of films from all eras and all nationalities 85,000 cinema posters from the beginning of the 7th art to the present day (first collection of cinema posters in France)More than 500,000 photographs of filming, set, personalities…15,000 books, 1,500 titles of periodicals, 2,500 scenarios, 2,500 films on DVD and 3,500 on VOD, etc. An inventory of the archives is still in progress. Good to know The collections of the Cinémathèque are kept in a Conservation and Research Center, located in Balma.
1st edition of the festival
SYNCHRO invites you to (re)discover works from silent cinema through the eyes and talent of musicians with very different approaches (from piano to electro via jazz and rock). Thirty cine-concerts are on the program for this first edition.
The festival is also held as part ofA Cinema Season in Toulouse.
The festival takes place in twenty places, in Toulouse, in the Metropolis and in the Occitanie region. While most of the events take place at the Cinémathèque de Toulouse, some are held in other cultural venues in Toulouse:
