Venice, Allerik Freeman’s point: “There’s a lot of talent in the team and I’m confident because we’re working well, the season is still long”
After the success in the Eurocup against Lietkabelis Panevezys, Umana Reyer Venezia is preparing to take the field against Dolomiti Energia Trentino (Saturday at 8 pm) and Freeman gave a comment on the next match in the “Corriere del Veneto – Venezia” and ” la Nuova di Venezia and Mestre”: “We face a team that plays physically, that puts a lot of energy into it. We know that Trento is one of the most difficult teams to face in the league. We will have to impact this energy and put great attention to detail ”.
On the performance not always up to expectations, Freeman threw water on the fire: “Since there are nine new players out of thirteen, it is natural that it takes time. There’s a lot of talent and this might make you think it’s easy to get results right away, in reality you need to get to know each other. It’s a question of chemistry, of mixing different characteristics, of getting to know each other and making the right decisions in a matter of moments. Mutual knowledge means not only finding the right player at the right time, but also finding the right balance in defense. For example, now that Parks has returned we have other possibilities in defensive aids: before, if a winger was beaten, the help only came from Watt, but now he’s there too. The structure of the team has therefore changed, just as it changes during the same game with the variation of the quintets. But I’m very confident because the team is working very well, the season is still long”.
Even from a personal point of view, the American guard is increasingly fit: “Now I’m better from a physical point of view. I have to thank the coaching staff and my team mates for the way they are helping me in my insertion. It wasn’t easy at the beginning, for a while I struggled to score a basket, but the best thing is that I felt great confidence, everyone’s support is essential”.
