” What if the RER changed your life?“. From Thursday, November 24 and until December 8, 2022, the association Rallumons l’Étoile carries out investigation to interview the inhabitants of the greater Toulouse conurbation.
A survey for the general public
A way for the association defending this RER project to make itself known to the general public, and above all, to study in more detail the movements of each in the Toulouse conurbation.
“With this survey, we will transmit the inhabitants of the agglomeration, in their diversity, to the heart of the Toulouse RER project”, indicates Benoît Lanusse, the president of Rallumons l’Étoile. “Could certain concrete measures (RER running every 30 minutes from 5 a.m. to midnight, integrated pricing, etc.) change their lives by reducing their travel conditions? That’s what we would like to know,” he adds.
As a reminder, the association, which hopes first concrete measures from 2024defend the creation of 6 RER lines clocked every 30 minutes from 5 a.m. to midnight.
Make the RER concrete
Objective, therefore, through this survey: make the RER concrete for the general public, while providing food for thought to decision-makers. This new phase comes at a time when several elected officials and communities have taken a position on the future emergence of such a means of transport in the Toulouse conurbation.
According to our information, a first meeting Should even be held in December between the prefect Etienne Guyot, the president (PS) of the Occitanie Region Carole Delgathe president (independent, ex-LR) of Toulouse Métropole, Jean-Luc Moudenc and the President (PS) of the Departmental Council of Haute-Garonne, Georges Meric or even the president of Tisséo, Jean-Michel Latte.
Master’s students mobilized
The Ralumons l’étoile association hopes to obtain “several thousand responses” to his questionnaire, which takes about five minutes to complete.
To carry out this ambitious investigation, Rallumons l’Étoile relies on 13 students from the Master Transmob of the Jean-Jaurès University, who are the kingpins.
“Many municipalities and associations have also decided to mobilize to contribute to the success of this study by relaying information and participating in the organization of actions on the ground to encourage their inhabitants to participate”, rejoices the association, which believes that a ” broad cross-party consensus expressed himself in recent weeks within institutional players (Tisséo, Toulouse Métropole, Occitanie Region, Departmental Council of Haute-Garonne) for discuss a pragmatic first phase of the Toulouse RER (…). There is no doubt that the future results of this survey were to fuel their reflections, ”said Rallumons L’Etoile.
