Soltec joins forces with Endesa to build a solar tracker factory in Andorra
MURCIA. Soltec will have a new solar tracker factory. The company, born in Molina de Segura – the town where it maintains its headquarters – has reached an alliance with Endesa to promote new facilities in Andorra.

Likewise, the company, which currently has more than 11.6 gigawatts (GW) of projects under development, expects to reach between 25 and 30 GW in 2025, distributed in a balanced way with a presence of 55% of the portfolio in Europe. Consequently, Soltec will need to increase its production capacity.
For now, so far in 2022 it has managed to reach a turnover of 403 million euros, which means more than doubling the income achieved in the first nine months of 2021. In addition, thanks to this increase in sales, the company from Molina has managed to reverse its situation and get some benefits from 4.5 million euros so far this year.
Endesa macroproject
The construction of this solar tracker factory is part of the macroproject that is being carried out by Endesa in Andorra to give a second life to the old coal-fired power generation of the thermal power station. Therefore, it will be replaced by solar, wind, green hydrogen and storage energy projects, with a total installed capacity of more than 1,800 MW of new renewable capacity.
This plan of socioeconomic development in the area that will create more than 6,300 jobs, coming to generate more than 370 permanent jobs in the area for the operation of these facilities: “It is a real project that will demonstrate value in the area and in which Endesa has acquired the commitment to invest more than 1,500 million euros for the development of these projects”, includes the Endesa’s General Director of Generation, Rafael González.
In addition to the collaboration with Soltec, Endesa has reached an agreement with Pretersa for the expansion of the precast concrete factory located in The Puebla de Híjar that will generate other 80 jobs in the area. Endesa is also working on the development of a Manufacturing center for electrolyzers and a center for second life of wind turbines, among other projects.
