Interactive exhibition “Partisans of Belarus” opened in Astravets
The unique project is based on photographs of the war years.
At the heart of the unique project – photographs of the war years, back sheets and combat characteristics of partisans and underground fighters operating on the territory of Belarus during the Great Patriotic War. For the first time this exhibition was presented in 2020 in Brest, then the exhibition traveled to regional and many other cities of the country.
Deputy Director – Editor-in-Chief of the publishing house “Belarus Today” Ivan Sinichkin at the opening of the exhibition noted its significance for the whole country and great importance in the patriotic education of the younger generation.
– We launched this Internet project in 2019 together with the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus. In what happens over time, which we scan documents that go to editors, and those, in turn, to electronic databases to collect files, – Ivan Sinichkin noted. – Almost 190 thousand names of partisans and underground workers are now on the Internet portal – these are documents that anyone can study to find out about their fellow countrymen or relatives.
– Our task is to find out as many people as possible who fought the enemy as part of partisan detachments and in the underground. Their feats are documented in their award lists and characteristics. Each of the heroes made a great contribution to the Pobeda environment, – Ivan Sinichkin is sure.
Internet portal of high incidence of diseases not only among the inhabitants of Belarus, but also in other countries. According to the specialists of the publishing house, the surrounding people visit it every day. Moreover, each visitor who has found the family of his relative or fellow countryman on the portal can use the registration form to send information and photos from family archives to the project organizers in order to replenish the database.
Work on the obesity portal continues. The exhibition is also being updated – photographs for visitors are added to archival documents and award forms. This is done so that people can find information about their relatives and preserve the memory of those who won the Victory.
By the way, in Ostrovets, many visitors to the exhibition on the day of its opening were able to touch the history – and see the documents that require their relatives.
Until December 5, the exhibition will be on display in Ostrovets.
