World Flash: Belgium’s jersey banned, the stadiums overflow but are empty, prison or expulsion, she must choose for her attacker
Every day, during the World Cup, find the main information on the competition taking place in Qatar.
An Argentinian television journalist had her purse stolen in Qatar, where the World Cup is being held: the police made her a somewhat incongruous offer. Dominique Metzger, journalist for the Argentinian television channel TN, had money, his credit card and his papers stolen from his handbag. She then logically went to file a complaint with the police. And the agents offered him… to fix the sentence when the perpetrators of the theft are found. “I went through a situation that we talk about all the time. The difference is that it happened here, which they say is the safest place, said the journalist on her Instagram account. We were here, in this beautiful place, but a few hours ago it was full of people. It was a robbery, it wasn’t violent at all. »
“That’s when I realized the cultural differences, she posted on her Instagram account. The policewoman told me: ‘We have high-tech cameras everywhere and we will locate the thief using face detection. What do you want justice to do when we find him? What punishment do you want us to inflict on him? Do you want him to be sentenced to five years in prison? Do you want him kicked out? »
“They insisted on asking me what sanction I wanted, so that I could decide. But no, I was saying that I wanted my things to reappear, concluded the Argentine journalist. I did not want to put myself in the place of justice. »
Belgium will have to find another 2nd shirt: the one that bears an inscription prohibited by FIFA.
No claims. FIFA has created controversy by banning the message armband, and Belgium must also do without its 2nd jersey. All white, however, it bears a prohibited inscription… “Love”. Love in English. Prints in the colors of the rainbow are validated. Belgium will therefore have to withdraw the “Love” or play with another shirt. “There was simply no consultation possible”, regrets the DG of the Belgian federation in remarks reported by Het Nieuwsblad.

Wales fans have been barred from entering Al Rayyan Stadium for wearing rainbow colored hats. A journalist was held for 25 minutes by guards for an LGBT t-shirt. He refused to take it off and was therefore priced to stay out of the stadium…
According to the English and Spanish press, several stadiums had computer problems… which allowed some smart guys to attend matches without paying for their ticket. Especially during the match between England and Iran, organized at the Khalifa International Stadium. People only had to show the Hayya (entry permit in Qatar and that we have if we have at least bought a ticket for a World Cup match). The computer problem caused the stadiums to open automatically. But some English supporters, who had bought a ticket, missed the start of the match against Senegal (6-2) following the technical breakdown.
Stadiums a bit empty in the pictures… but more than full: According to The Sun, Qatar has the extraordinary power to announce more spectators than the stadium can accommodate. The announcer for the match between Qatar and Ecuador announced 67,000 spectators… so the Al Bayt Stadium has a maximum capacity of 60,000 people. Even chosen during Senegal and the Netherlands (0-2): Al Thumama Stadium contains 40,000 spectators but the announcement was 41,721 spectators. Maybe Qatar counts differently…
