The InoBat production line is already heading from China to Slovakia
- The production line for InoBat batteries for electric vehicles, from the Chinese company Wuxi Lead, has been successfully validated, packed and ready to be moved to Slovakia
- InoBat will thus complete the construction of its research and development center in Voderady
- The production line has a maximum capacity of 45 MWh
- InoBat has already successfully tested and with external partners produced the 4th generation of batteries for a specific client. Their production will be moved to Voderady
The Slovak company InoBat will soon take over the production line from its Chinese partner Wuxi Lead. It belongs to one of the largest manufacturers in the world in the production of production lines. For example, CATL, Northvolt, Panasonic, Samsung SDI, LG Chem and Volkswagen also use lines from this company in their production.
“Wuxi Lead is the supplied equipment supplier in the first phase of the project, while we provided complete equipment and services for InoBat. At the same time, the entire production line is equipped with a digital solution from Siemens. We consider cooperation with InoBat to be the quality of our products, technologies and services. , that this pilot line will gain worldwide attention,” describes Yanqing Wang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Wuxi Lead.
The Wuxi Lead company made the production line precisely tailored to the specific mixture of InoBat, while comprehensively covering the entire production process from the preparation of anode and cathode mixtures to the final forming, aging and testing of the finished battery cells. The greatest emphasis was placed on the quality of the production process, a great degree of flexibility in terms of chemistry and cell format, up to the provision of clean and ultra such premises in Voderady, where the line will be imported.
“Lafter successful validation, inka is ready for transport to Voderady, where it should arrive in the 1st quarter of 2023. In the first quarter of next year, it will also start producing batteries for specific customers, while we managed to test and produce their 4th generation,” executive director of InoBat Pavol Krokoš. “Each piece of technology will be delivered from China in a precise sequence and according to precisely defined conditions. Unloading and later transferred technologies within the building will be ensured by the use of special technology so that these are specific spaces even for this type of environment production.” adds.
He also adds that the line will fully produce InoBat batteries at the end of the first Q of 2023. Its maximum capacity will reach the level of 45 MWh.
“This will be the last step in the finalization of our research and development center in Voderady. The new line uses state-of-the-art high-speed layering production, which increases production efficiency and precise changeover of tool sets. As the line is flexible in different formats and the question of cell batteries, at InoBat we can produce unique batteries tailor-made for each of our customers.”
Right next to the production line in Voderady is the scientific and research part of the company. It also consists of three laboratories that are already open. Wet, dry and e-chem labs are from the very best research. All these laboratories are well located in that they are right next to this large production line. This will enable full control over the development of battery cells from chemistry to production to final validation of performance parameters. “Compared to the original plan, the building was supplemented with administrative and technical parts. As part of the research and development part, we have already opened a special laboratory for testing, research and development of our batteries. The laboratories in Voderady are spread over a large area of approximately 1000 m². concludes Pavol Krokoš.
INOBAT DID NOT EVEN START WITH BATTERIES. HE HAS ALREADY TESTED AND MANUFACTURED THE 4TH GENERATION
InoBat has also moved forward in the production of batteries. Just last year, he successfully tested the first series of NMC 622, which achieved great results in terms of range, capacity and service life. In these areas, the main leading manufacturer.
Currently, their scientists have also developed the 4th generation of batteries. The first prototypes were tested and delivered to the first customer in Germany. At the moment, In Bat produces batteries with an external contractual partner, while it is not possible to use the production line that will be moved directly to Voderady.
“The uniqueness and environmental friendliness of this generation is also underlined by the fact that we have increased the nickel content to the greatest extent, thereby reducing the manganese and cobalt content by 50%. Another key element of these batteries is technological progress in the area of using a high proportion of silicon. We produced battery cells with this chemistry already in the first half of this year and successfully passed safety and tests for use in road and air transport,” Well done Douglas MacAndrew, Technical Director of InoBat.
