Letter to the Editor – Hardly a choice
I wonder how many of us are all going to have to pay for the rising utility bills, gas and electricity prices, runaway inflation, high gas prices. I wonder why people who have struggled all their lives and have always been able to pull it off have suddenly and through no fault of their own become petitioners and beneficiaries of their countries. I look at it and give myself the answer: Because politicians lament the situation instead of fighting the causes. First of all we should start with ourselves. Problem solving with the EU? God forbid! Each of us is better qualified than this empty chat society. No, we must stop exporting our own discouragement to Brussels. They don’t have one themselves! Open your mouth as an independent country. Publicly and vocally calling for more diplomacy in the Ukraine conflict. We need cheap energy. Where does she come from after all? Since when did we get so picky? We were and are not half as magnanimous in the choice of our medium and global partners as we like to pretend. The people do not need alms from the state, which sooner or later they will have to pay for themselves anyway. You need a very first place favorable energy. That’s where it depends.
