continues the black period of rossoblù
A dull Sassari Torres, in the eighth round of women’s Serie B, conceded 4-0 to San Marino by former rossoblù player Giulia Domenichetti. A lethal first half cut off the legs of coach Mauro Ardizzone’s girls who, in the second half, despite an attempt to react, were unable to reverse the result.
Immediately dangerous Sassari with Peddio. In the 2nd minute the rossoblù’s number 22, served deep by Marenic, face to face with the goalkeeper hit the crossbar. The first chance of the match for the guests came in the 18th minute. Following a mistake by Deiana in the clearance phase, Marengoni kicked on the outside of the net only in front of the goalkeeper. After a few minutes, San Marino’s opening goal arrived in the 23rd minute. On a cross cut in the center of the area, this time Marengoni made no mistake and placed the ball in the net with his right foot. In the 34th minute the guests doubled with the great ex of the match Maria Grazia Ladu, the former Rossoblù captain, after stealing the ball from Weithofer on the trocar, flew away near the edge of the area and with a powerful right footed the cross beat Deiana. The visitors’ third goal arrived in the 41st minute, this time it was Barbieri who, from the center of the area, made no mistake with his left foot.
Good start in the second half for the Sassari side who, with the change of form added by coach Ardizzone (4-3-2-1), managed to filter more in midfield to quickly restart forward by exploiting Marenic’s inspiration. It was right from his feet that Torres’ chance came in the 55th minute to shorten the gap. Only thanks to a good intervention by Olivieri, the left-footed man from the edge of the area of the rossoblù number 10 didn’t turn into a goal. Another opportunity for the Sassari players in the 73rd minute with Devoto who, launched by Congia into the area, only for a matter of moments was brought forward by the defense of the San Marino players. The players of Sassari tried in every possible way to overturn the match, but it didn’t happen and in the 93rd minute the guests’ fourth goal arrived thanks to Zito who, served inside the area in front of the goalkeeper, made no mistake. At the “Basilio Canu” in Sennori, San Marino beat Torres 4-0. In the next round of the championship, scheduled for Sunday 27 November, Mauro Ardizzone’s girls will face Arezzo away.
